To update a tarball, a developer needs to create it manually and place
it in the downloads.linuxfromscratch.org root on belgarath. The name of
the files needs to match the ones in packages.ent. Of course the other
data such as md5sums needs to match the new file too.
The daily script will then create the appropriate symbolic link to the
new archive.
