That's the approach I was going to propose too. Unless folks really
start (ab)using this new header_install target, upstream (both kernel
and userspace packages) are going to remain broken. Let's help these
guys out. After all, it'll make our lives easier in the future by not
requiring any patches at all :-)

Matt,
David will not listen to this, I have tried. His words are, it's not
userspace submit patches to the actual program maintainer.
