Okay, here's a plan. I'm looking for +1 or -1 to the idea: 1. Change all the prdownloads to just downloads. 2. Create an xinclude file that says something similar to: "The download URL shown above will automatically pick one of the many Sourceforge mirrors to download the package from. If you'd rather choose which mirror you want to download from, substitute 'prdownloads' for 'downloads' in the URL above. Also see the section in Chapter 1 - Getting the Source Packages' for additional information. 3. Insert the xinclude file after the download section of each Sourceforge package. 4. Create a paragraph in the "Getting the Source Packages" section of the book explaining the Sourceforge situation, and additionally show an example of forcing a download from a particular mirror. E.g., http://heanet.dl.sourceforge.net/someproject/someproject-x.y.z.tar.gz The inserts into each Sourceforge package would be done by global seds, so there's really no effort involved at all to make this happen. -- Randy rmlscsi: [bogomips 1003.26] [GNU ld version 2.16.1] [gcc (GCC) 4.0.3] [GNU C Library stable release version 2.3.6] [Linux 2.6.14.3 i686] 11:54:00 up 5 days, 12:08, 1 user, load average: 0.26, 0.16, 0.12 -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
