We had this conversation a while back when upgrading alsa to 1.0.11, but I thought I'd bring it up here again before I just did it.
I, and most people I would assume, only ever use alsa-lib and alsa-utils with whatever drivers are in the kernel I'm using. As such, I won't test alsa-plugins, alsa-firmware, alsa-tools and alsa-oss. I do see a need to fix alsa-firmware so that the firmware goes to /lib/firmware where udev expects it. Otherwise, I'll be just blindly updating these guys after checking size, md5sum and dependencies. If anyone has a problem with this, or if you can provide info about your experience running one of those packages, please let me know. This corresponds to tickets #2112 and #2201. -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
