I think that's probably fine, with one adjustment. I don't think we need 
to get into the fine details of the toolchain outside the appendix, but 
a very simple overview of what we're doing and why would still be nice 
at the beginning somewhere. Otherwise, we may start to get floods of 
questions like, "Why do I have to build GCC 3 times?", or "Can't I just 
skip chapter 5?". Some brief overview which then gives a link to the 
appendix should suffice, I would think.
