I have written a GRUB2 hint at http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/downloads/files/grub2.txt
The intent was to prototype a change to the book's section 8.4. I'd appreciate it if some of you would try out the instructions and give me feedback. Right now, I don't think the polish is there to include the beta in the book directly, but a reference to the hint may be appropriate.
