I had problems initially (see http://wiki.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/ticket/2737), but fixed those with the patch that went into the book. Some folks are having reboot issues with the .3 kernel (see http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail//linux/kernel/1008.2/02428.html), which is why I've held off from upgrading just yet.
