Then I'm glad you didn't disregard the work. I still disagree with backporting 
changes like this when the LSB package existed and was complete. I don't get 
the reason for duplicating the effort. 

Again, what are the objections beyond initd_tools?

Please don't mistake my motivation here. It's not about what I'm doing. From a 
personal standpoint, I really don't care what LFS does. I'm not using LFS now, 
nor am I likely to in the future. It just bothered me that DJ spent so much 
work to improve the scripts and then his work was not accepted for reasons that 
are still unclear...
