With respect, Matt, it's the glib2 part that is bloat. I remember some discussion, but I forget why we did it, and at the moment I don't have time to check (still trying to sort out printing, now that I'm using current versions of the printing packages on my recent LFS-6.8 build, before eventually getting to LFS-current).
