The fixes in 3.0.8 should have been backported from Linus' tree and therefore 3.1 should have the same fixes. So, for users to get longer-term support in terms of security and bugfixes, it may be better to go with 3.1, so that users of 7.0 can pick up the subsequent 3.1.x stable kernels. > I was thinking about releasing 7.0 on Friday the 28th.
