I know they're not needed, but there's probably a whole heap of other stuff not needed too (man pages, etc.). I'd prefer simpler/fewer instructions than adding stuff to completely trim down the chapter 5 build. Prior to the issues we encountered with the texinfo upgrade, info pages were always built/installed, without much fanfare.
