Are you using a 32-bit kernel? > Yes, the host system was LFS-7.2-i686, built on an old x86_64 machine and copied to the currnent one. In theory, a 64-bit kernel would give me an extra GB of RAM on that box (well, it does in the 7.0 and 7.1 64-bit systems I copied to it), but for the moment it is plain 32-bit in that system.
