Should the book be updated with latest version of CC license?
It's currently at:
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode.txt
I realize that this is probably near the very bottom of the todo list, if
even present, but I'll be happy to wrap in our tags if needed. Just
another thing I ran across while going through the book. I was looking for
a plain text version of the license to include in PKGBUILD files. Sorry,
no plain text version of 2.0 on the site.
Well we include the full text of the license in the book. It would be
interesting to see what the differences are.
Really the only issue is to prevent someone from trying to prevent someone
from using it (selling it) commercially. That was done once before the
license was put in the book. I think it was something like LFS 3.0 or
earlier around the year 2001. That book is not around any more.
Geez. I just went to Amazon and they are offering 7.1 (2012) for $28.
The last authorized version I knew about was version 6.0. It looks like
they just printed the pdf.
In any case I think Gerard needs to make any decision about the copyright.
