Ahh, no need now! :-) Their git diff wouldn't apply. There were some
extra blobs that weren't in ours -- probably changed after ours was
generated. Anyway, pulled all three i18n patches, applied and tested.
They apply with some offset, so I rediffed against clean source. Test
results look good:

I'm also curious about the warning we give in the book. Any recent
reports of problems caused by this patch? All I could find was sort in
2009 (in our own archives). There were 4 security issues with it back in
2013.
