Hello,

It's been a long while since I've gone through the LFS book, and as I was
doing so briefly today, it occurred to me that just a little bit of
rationale info for each package (especially in chapter 6) would be really
helpful.

Did the editors add this package because it's a dependency for another one?
Is this providing a feature for the base system that is considered required
for a functioning basic Linux system? It doesn't have to be a long story,
especially when it is subject to personal opinion (i.e., vim), but just a
little blurb would be nice.

Anyway, just a thought.
