I didn't try that command in particular.
It is part of "make" in acpica-unix-20170728 without any parameters or
prior config...
But I did build the package and tested several of the utilities
included in the package which was met with success.
tried utilities: acpidump, acpixtract, acpisrc and iasl.
...so you will have come across that. Thanks. "make" errors out for me at
above command. So for the moment it is just me seeing this and I will
test/rebuild/compare instead of reporting upstream.
