Looking at svn blame in LFS, that seems to be
11230 bdubbs objcopy --only-keep-debug $LIB $LIB.dbg
11230 bdubbs strip --strip-unneeded $LIB
11230 bdubbs objcopy --add-gnu-debuglink=$LIB.dbg $LIB
and that was done on April 25th last year, which was between the 8.0
and 8.1 releases. I doubt that anyone who is still using 8.0 (or
earlier!) cares about updating and debugging.
I'll remove that dangerous text.
Thanks Ken. I completely forgot about those BLFS comments when we
updated LFS. Sometimes it is really difficult to remember all the
inter-dependencies.
