Hmmm, Looks like I did not look at the right place for Python lfs... Having the introduction in the title header mislead me (I haven't seen it at first). Anyway, as you know, lfs/blfs has a 20 years history, with dozens of contributors. Editing policy has had some variations. Certainly, a lot of explanations need some overhaul (I've been browsing through the whole blfs book while formatting the xml, and I can tell you that some explanations are outdated or could be better done). But now the lfs/blfs team is very small. So I do not think it is possible to do anything good besides updating build instructions (the most important). TL;DR: there is no reason for the differences, but if you send some patches, I'm sure we'll be happy to include them.
