After this week's problems with unbootable systems after updating
(at least fedora, maybe also debian and ubuntu) I'm relieved that we
haven't picked up this weeks "fixes for signed grub" and made uefi
support the default.  I agree that if uefi "just worked" without
requiring people to jump into holes would be nice, but
for an individual who owns his or her machine, signed booting is not
necessarily desirable.
