Not sure that that's enough of a justification for having a
BLFS style meta-info block, simply because the link is
going to be version specific, and so the reader would still
have to traverse the original path to find the newest version.
When LFS was originally developed, a single URL was deemed sufficient.
When BLFS was started we wanted an ftp URL because LFS had an ftp
client, but we also wanted to offer http access.
Over the years, upstream has changed and sometimes the ftp servers were
dropped or http access added.
In addition, we have also created tools for things like currency checks
and automated building that depend on the current formats. Changing
these tools would be a lot more work than just the appearance of the pages.
What we have now works and honestly benefit of the suggested changes
does not justify the effort required.
