The 6.0 tarball contains all packages needed to build LFS 6.0. The
6.1-20050625 contains all packages for the soon-to-be-release 6.1 or

It is not recommended. If you want the newer packages, please use the
testing version. It is in a rather stable state at the moment.

The patches may apply, but the patches were written for the 6.0
versions. We cannot make any guarantees that they will apply cleanly
and/or cause compilation problems.
If you want the 6.1 (testing) packages, please just build testing.
