Yes, Stephen, please do that. I know that at first glance it might seem elitist to always suggest to new ones to find answers for themselves, as if we're holding answers back from you because we're selfish jerks. In reality, though, the book *does* do a very good job at providing you the answers you need in order to make each command work (and if they're ever missing, or unclear, we work hard to fix it.) However that only works if you *read* each section of the book before attempting to build anything.
On support lists like this, it never works for us to just hand you answers, because then you never learn anything. For example, when you first started asking questions here, you were told to watch your environment settings. Since then many of your questions have still centered around misunderstandings in the way the bash shell and environment works. So just handing you the answers hasn't taught you anything. You still need to get some background knowledge as both the Book and Ken have suggested.
Please, understand that we *do* enjoy helping and we're not trying to be elitist. That's why we're telling you that the *best* way to learn is to read and use google and/or other search tools to find answers yourself. So before ever you post a question to this list you should already have:
