I run both with a serial mouse and don't notice any conflicts. I'm
not trying to start a pissing contest, I just don't see the issues
you apparently see.

And I use a serial mouse on several machines. I have an old KVM
switch and serial cables that I bought years and years ago. I still
use it to switch between 4 different machines, all configured to
use /dev/ttyS0 as the default mouse.
