Because RedHat pays full time programmers to modify the linux kernel
to support NTPL - in doing so, they also modify glibc, gcc, and many
other packages so they all work together (mostly) nicely. This is
Linux From Scratch, not RedHat From Scratch, so thats why we don't
provide support for using NTPL with Linux 2.4.x kernels. The effort to
include the changes RedHat (and other distributions) provide to stock
packages is simply too much for a very small volunteer community.
