Hello,
I use a redhat 9 with a 2.6.11.7 kernel (original kernel
was 2.4.20-8) as the host system,
and I try to install lfs 6.1 (lfs-packages-6.1-20050515.
tar).
My problem comes when constructing the final LFS system,
while doing the "make check" step
on package glibc-2.3.4.tar.bz2 (with added package
glibc-linuxthreads-2.3.4.tar.bz2) patched
with glibc-2.3.5-fix_test-1.patch that allows tst-
cancel17 to be passed.
I get the following error concerning tst-clock2
GCONV_PATH=/sources/glibc-build/iconvdata LC_ALL=C /
sources/glibc-build/elf/ld-linux.so.2 --library-path /
sources/glibc-build:/sources/glibc-build/math:/sources/
glibc-build/elf:/sources/glibc-build/dlfcn:/sources/
glibc-build/nss:/sources/glibc-build/nis:/sources/glibc-
build/rt:/sources/glibc-build/resolv:/sources/glibc-
build/crypt:/sources/glibc-build/nptl /sources/glibc-
build/nptl/tst-clock2 > /sources/glibc-build/nptl/tst-
clock2.out

make[1]: *** [nptl/tests] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/sources/glibc-2.3.4'
make: *** [check] Error 2
When I try command "date", I get the following:
for the host system (I am french),
# date
sam aoĆ» 13 23:08:20 CEST 2005
while "chrooted" in lfs,
# date
Sat Aug 13 21:09:17 Local time zone must be set--see zic
manual page 2005
The difference of 2 hours is dued to UTC I use on the
host system.
As I didn't find any advise concerning this, I compiled
the packages in an xterm.
Also I used LFS-BOOK-6.1-testing-20050401-NOCHUNKS.html,
in which glibc-2.3.5-fix_test-1.patch is not mentioned.
I erased tst-clock2.c test file and all the mentions of
this test from the /sources/glibc-2.3.4/nptl/Makefile.
And "make check" ends correctly.
