Apologies for using ?mount? instead of ?mknod?.  I guess it can happen to a 
fella when the embarrassment of having compiled his main ext2 file system as 
module exceeds a certain threshold.

Many thanks for the clarifications on creating console and null nodes twice.

In the _smaller_ scheme of things, still confused about the inconsistency of 
using first mode 600 and three commands later, mode 622.  I suppose it was done 
on purpose to divert the reader's mind off the more troublesome things in life 
nowadays :-)
