So, - I don't need to alter the MBR unless I change something about /boot (using a different partition and/or filesystem for it, etc.) - Grub doesn't need any of the files in /usr while it's booting a system. - I thus don't *need* to install grub on LFS, but it's probably a good idea to do it anyway.
