hello all!! I have almost done installing lfs on mandrake10.But i have following queries regarding lfs:
1)I did nt find anywhere what to do with the sources directory.Can i safely delete it? because in some sections they have told to create symlinks from sources directory to /tool/bin and /bin directory. 2)Final size for my system is 200 MB.I have removed man and info pages as i don't need them .It has reduced another 80 to 90 MB of space.Can i further reduce it? Friends i have already tried --strip-all on my binaries in /bin,/sbin ,/usr/bin,/usr,sbin. and --strip-debug. Now i am going to remove libraries in /usr/lib ending with _g.a or _p.a.I don't want debug libraries. 3) I want to remove license files how can i find them? 4) I could not understand concept of keymaps.Please tell me how can i include them in my kernel. 5)I have not yet executed commands mentioned in section 8.4:"making the lfs system bootable" My mandrake10 partition is on /dev/hda5 and swap is on /dev/hda1.Bootloader in the host system is lilo. for LFS i am working on /dev/hda3. during grub installation i can change the parameter to root (hd0,2).
