Now, what do I hope lfs will give me ? *knowledge*.
Well, then I guess just about any version of LFS will do, so I would
recommend you get going on the SVN version ;) And BTW, it's a good idea
to heed Richard's advice and download a local copy of the book, just in
case things change right in the middle of it..
Another advice: You might want to partition your harddrive (or put in an
extra one) so that you can keep a working system on there for the times
things don't quite work ;) Yeah.. I learned that the hard way, hehe..
I am sorry for people who were absolutely not interested in my story,
but I think that on the other hand it was useful to understand that I
am as of today just an "experienced newbie" who is seeking advice on
where to go from now.
You're excused ;) Think they just skipped it..
As where to go, I think you're already on the way. My path was LFS, BLFS
(repeat loop for a few times), and now nALFS to make life easier and my
wife happier ;) Play around with it, and the knowledge will follow..
If you ever get stuck, there's a lot of places to get help and info;
Mailing List, Google, IRC, imaginary friends and so forth.. :)
May the source be with you.
