Hi !

At last, I have installed my first PARTLY SUCCESSFUL LFS system .

Partly successful because I could not login int the system and use it.

When I boot the system I get the following error messages:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. unforeseen error took place in /etc/rc.d/rcsysinit.d/S80localnet
which exited witha return value of
sed:-e expression #1 char 4: invalid usage of line address 0

On pressing the enter key I get the following error message:

2. /etc/rc3.d/S20network exited with a return value of 1

On pressing the enter key I get the following login prompt:

    (none) login:

I tried to login as root but unsuccessful at it.

I could not run any command and I tried ctrl+alt+del and got the
following message:

1. /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/S90localnet exited with return value of 1

On pressing enter key I get the following msg:

2. /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/S90localnet exited with a return value of 1

I am using a single stand alone PC without any network.
I connect to the internet using eth0 with DSL connection
(without any static IP address).

Please throw some light on configuring the network scripts.

Also let me know how to make the system ask for a password at login prompt.

Thanks
