Hi everyone,
i am a newbie in LFS.
My machine: P4, 500Mb RAM, 60Go HD
My Host system: Ubuntu 3.4.4-6ubuntu8.1 Linux version 2.6.12-10-386
I ve passes through Chapter 5 and began chapter 6.
I have been, few days ago, stopped a first time because Bison and Flex
weren t installed on my host distribution.
Can someone sum up what is mandatory to have installed on the host
distribution to begin an installation of LFS.
Bison, Flex and gcc should be enough on Ubuntu
Because sometimes, you compile a package at chapter 5 without any errors
and arriving in chapter 6 you just figure out that there was certainly
something missing on your host distribution.
You only need the host system to build chapter 5. The point of building
the temporary tools is to isolate LFS from your host system. If
something is missing when you do chapter 6, it's because you made a
mistake doing chapter 5
