I see. Ok so that means your new kernel does support your ethernet
driver. Possibly this come through as a kernel module. Your old LFS
loads it right but not your new LFS. I'm not up-to-date with all the
recent LFS developments particularly with udev/hotplug stuff. I'd
suggest, if your eth0 driver is being built as a module, make it built
into the kernel instead. Just something to try :)

I have installed the new lfs twice just to eliminate any errors that
may have gone undetected during install. The second time I took care
to ensure that no error went un-noticed.
No "warning message" is also received regarding "missed events" of
device-detection, like mentioned in Sec-6.55 Udev-088 of the Book.
I, therefore, conclude that the problem has cropped up as a result of
installing the "udev-merged branch" and because of droping "hotplug".
Has anyone else also experienced this problem?
What could be the cause and remedy of this problem?
