You forgot the rest of the commands in the linux-libc-headers instructions. Remove the glibc source and build dirs, copy the correct headers by following the book's instructions, and try glibc again.

Is this correct? You did "cp -Rv include/linux /tools/include? If so, this is wrong, and is probably the reason why you're having problems.

Ahh never mind, that is what the book says (don't look at stable LFS much anymore). In any case, that is not the *only* command in nthe linux-libc-headers section.
