Now. You say that you cannot `su - lfs'. That's not good. Unless you
deleted the lfs user, you should be able to change to him. Possibly
the user is missing a password. As root, do `passwd lfs'.
More importantly, we need to figure out why msgfmt is not getting
built, regardless of whether you're the root user or not. Remove the
gettext source directory, unpack it again and enter it. Now, issue
these commands.
cd gettext-tools
./configure --prefix=tools --disable-libasprintf \
--without-csharp &> gettext.log
That will log all the output to gettext.log. Reply to this mail and
attach that log.
