Hi. Back with this. I've recompiled a new LFS (6.2-3) with UTF-8 locales. I've also installed skim-1.4.5, scim-1.4.4, scim-anthy-1.0.0 and anthy-7818. I've followed the tips in the scim webpage and I've defined export [EMAIL PROTECTED] #case matters for this variable! export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim export QT_IM_MODULE=xim
It _nearly_ works. Skim runs and scim starts too. I see Anthy available and I can choose to write hiragana in a small window. The text is supposed to be copied when I press enter, but... it doesn't. There is something copied, but I think it's the code of the characters. For example, I write: ccc9cc( (aruberuto in hiragana) c"c+cc+c (aruberuto in katakana) and I see c c c 9 c c (the spaces are "strange" things) I have japanese fonts installed and working, because I can read old e-mails in Japanese. If I copy/paste from those e-mails, the copied text looks good. I've tried also to use skim with non qt/kde apps and the result is the same. The only think that works is kiten. I guess it must have its own connection to scim, which proves it works. In the scim web I've also seen that there is a qt plugin named qtimm. I wanted to try it, but there are patches only for qt-3.3.5 and below. Since I'm using qt-3.3.6 I wouldn't like to downgrade. What can I do? I'm sure there must be something stupid I'm missing, but I don't know what. Any help would be appreciated.
