Hello,
Since the past days i tried to print under KDE.
Configuration: BLFS Version svn-20061028
Cups 1.2.7
Gutenprint 5.0.0
KDE 3.5.2 (installed: kdelibs and kdebase)
When i try to configure kprinter i get always the following Error:
Connection to CUPS-Server failed.
Check that the CUPS Server is correctly installed and running.
Error: host not found
The cups server is running and configured. With Konqueror i installed my
printer as follows:
Lexmarke232 My printer is a Lexmark E232 Laserprinter
Local
Laserdrucker
Make and Model: Lexmark Optra E+-CUPS+Gutenprintv5.0.0
Device URI: usb:/Lexmark/E232
I could print the testpage of the Cups-Configuration. Because of a
harddisk-defect i lost my first BLFS_System. At the first system i could
print with the above configuration. I had twm and Firefox 1.5.0.7 installed.
Firefox detected my printer and printed without any errors. Has anyone an
idea what i made wrong?
If you need additional data please let me know.
I hope, that someone can help me.
Thanks in advance
Gerhard Erker
