Within the last month, I did a LFS 6.2 installation with Slackware 11.0
as the "host system".  I did it all one 19 or 20 day "chroot session".

Compiling Perl gave me similar errors, and they were all related to a
stray '0' (zero) character in what should have constituted a blank line.

Look for '0' at the beginning of the line.  "make" needs an ASCII "tab"
character at the beginning of the lines of commands it should execute
to create a given target.
