Hi all,

I'm a bit of a newbie - just so you know. I love the idea of LFS and decided
to give it a go.

I'm up to here:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/chapter06/glibc.html.

Everything seems to work fine for a while (no unaccounted for errors when
running the test suite), but when I do a

make install

it fails, and I'm not sure why. It suggests I look for old symbolic links
in /lib and /usr/lib, but I'm not quite sure what I'm meant to be looking
for.

Output is here:

/tools/lib/gcc/1686-pc-linux-gnu/4.0.3/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld:
cannot find lcidn
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
[debugging hints]
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/sources/glibc-2.3.6'
make: *** [install] Error 2

Are there any further diagnostic steps that I can take to find out what's
going wrong and fix it?

Thanks for your attention.

Sharif
