ACPI is indeed what's needed. I only enabled the following for it to
work:
Power management options --->
[*] Power Management support
[*] ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) Support --->
And removed the monitoring of all devices (battery, etc...) although
I could have left them there even if I don't need them at the moment.
