Dear All,
I have followed the LFS 6.3 book. I am using a Fedora Core 8 32 bit OS as a base OS. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop with a SATA hard drive. I formatted a partition /dev/sda9 of 15GB with mke2fs -j command as stated in the book.

I successfully compiled all packages. When I tried to boot into the new LFS, I get the error:
Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block (2,0)

I read in the FAQ that this generally means that the driver support for the hard disk may not have been compiled into the kernel. Is there a specific driver I need to compile for SATA hard drives? Also, I enabled the core 2 duo option while compiling the kernel.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Shivkumar Iyer.
