Hi, I have noticed that some applications (e.g. Firefox) look for the file /etc/mime.types to know what kind of application will be able to open their downloads.
The package shared-mime-info provides an update-mime-database, but I have not found an application that would generate the /etc/mime.types file automatically. I have looked into Ubuntu packages and they use a specific program to do that. Is there a default procedure for the generation of this file in BLFS or people in general just get a template from the web?
