although hal starts withouth problems on two laptops , I cannot get hal to start on my main PC during the boot process. After booting, there is no problem.
In order to avoid a known issue with hal delivering a "proc/mdstat: no such file or directory" message , I configured the kernel accordingly ( inspite the fact that I do not have raids at all ). This message went away, but now I am facing another one: quote --------------- Mar 18 22:11:11 edgar2 hald[2313]: 22:11:11.860 [I] hald.c:678: Will daemonize Mar 18 22:11:11 edgar2 hald[2313]: 22:11:11.860 [I] hald.c:679: Becoming a daemon Mar 18 22:11:11 edgar2 hald[2314]: 22:11:11.885 [I] hald_dbus.c:5381: local server is listening at unix:abstract=/var/run/hald/dbus-f7bG5sSLla,guid=acff155bb48babb66d797c4b49c1636f Mar 18 22:11:11 edgar2 hald[2314]: 22:11:11.887 [E] ck-tracker.c:367: Error doing GetSeats on ConsoleKit: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit was not provided by any .service files --------------- unquote I do not think I need a "Consolekit", and I do not know if this message is the reason for "starting the Hai Daemon fails". I presume still a bug. hal is version 0.5.11, linux from scratch svn 20090315 Any ideas please ? Thank you very much.
