Does that mean you are unpacking the packages on the ramdisk created by the livecd? Just in case you do: Don't. You will run into serious problems unpacking and compiling larger packages. Or did you copy the sources from the livecd on your harddisk? You should make a separate source directory on your harddisk and download newer versions of all the programs than included on the livecd into that folder.
