I tested it with another router and yes, it is the problem by the router. The problem router works fine except for output messages. Also I realized that the *quiet* option at boot is ineffective at preventing these outputs. I think there may be something wrong with the kernel config. I checked this with my ubuntu installation on the same netbook. The same continues Up and Down messages appear in log files but nothing leaks into the console even when I removed the boot quiet option.
Therefore use of this particular router in my LFS is associated with intolerable console messages, although it is fine in my ubuntu. Do you think I should change (or recompile) the kernel. it is 2.6.34 On Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 7:56 PM, Bruce Dubbs <[email protected]> wrote: > Mahmood saghaei wrote: > > Slightly edited > > >> Jul 21 06:29:23 lfs-first kernel: [69.153198] eth0: NIC Link is Up > >> Jul 21 06:29:41 lfs-first kernel: [87.282542] eth0: NIC Link is Down > >> Jul 21 06:29:43 lfs-first kernel: [88.870392] eth0: NIC Link is Up > >> Jul 21 06:29:46 lfs-first kernel: [92.212283] eth0: NIC Link is Down > > Having these changes occur so frequently appear to be a hardware > problem.
