Brief explanation of the problem:
Configuration of gmp-5.0.0 produces an error.
• The version of the book being used (in this case 6.6)
Yes, the book version is 6.6.
• The host distribution and version being used to create LFS
I am creating this on Kubuntu – netbook edition. Output from dmesg:

4.4.1-4ubuntu9) )
• The output from the Section vii, “Host System Requirements” [xvii]

Compilation OK
• The package or section the problem was encountered in
6.13.1. Installation of GMP
• The exact error message or symptom being received
Output from ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-cxx –enable-mpbsd:
...checking for suitable m4... configure: error: No usable m4 in $PATH or
/usr/5bin (see config.log for reasons).
Then, when I tried make:
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
• Note whether you have deviated from the book at all
I
don't believe I have deviated from the instructions thus far. I have
noticed though that the output from dmesg has changed since last I
submitted a problem report and am wondering if system updates to the
host system may be having some effect. I figure it's either that, or
possibly I've executed some steps logged in as the wrong user??
ps - I originally sent this query via an unregistered email, it's still in the
system somewhere, please disregard it.
Thanks,
Karl
