Dear Bruce since i emailed you i have played around a little more with it. it seems that even when i try wget http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/development/wget-list i get the same error message. I'm not entire sure where the problem is. Thank you for the quick response and i hope to hear from you soon sam
