This may be a minor issue, but may cause troubles after the LFS build completed. After chroot the umask will be 0027 (host = ubuntu 10.10). So the majority of LFS file system will not be readable by not-roots. You have to manually fix the issue every time you chroot into the LFS partition (chapter 6).
It seems that the umask inherits from the host. I am not sure if we can prevent this by touching a profile in the etc and setting the right umask value. Mahmoud
