A video won't give them the skills. Your course should have prerequisites, just like the book. http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/stable/prologue/ prerequisites.html If the students aren't able to meet the objectives, it's difficult to meet the goals. Also, many people require more hands on experience than watching a video. Videos turn people into robots. I may suggest an audio book, as well!
