Not very important, but I would think that 2.8e+08 is the C notation for floating point real, that is +08 is a power of 10. This would mean that the date was wrong by about 10 years (1 day is ~100,000 s, one year is roughly 30,000,000, so 280,000,000 is around ten years plus or minus one or two years...).
