Consider replacing the locate/updatedb part of findutils with the mlocate
package from Red Hat, Inc.

Quote from the mlocate project home page:

> system, which makes updatedb faster and does not trash the system caches

I installed this package in my BLFS system with no errors, and it works
fine. After the first time updatedb is run, it really is much faster than
the original.
